Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GTX 1050 Ti and I want to make sure I pick a GPU that's compatible with my current setup. Just a little background: I'm mostly gaming and doing some Photoshop work.
Here's my build:
- TUF GAMING B550M-PLUS
- AMD Ryzen 7 5800X (8-Core)
- 32 GB RAM
- 700W Power Supply
- GTX 1050 Ti
I'm open to upgrading my PSU if I need to. My budget is around $800 total, but because I'm in Argentina, shipping and taxes might limit my GPU choice to about $500.
Right now, I'm considering the RX 9060 XT and the RTX 5050. Do you think I need to change my PSU for these? Thanks in advance!

Considering your setup, I'd recommend the RX 9060 XT as a solid choice. It's got great performance for gaming and should be compatible with your motherboard. Just ensure your PSU can handle it; I’d suggest checking if it’s a reliable model.
The RTX 5050 is a solid budget option and significantly more powerful than your GTX 1050 Ti. Any GPU from the last two decades should work with your build, as long as the power requirements are met. Just make sure you've got a good PSU to back it up!
Awesome, thanks for clarifying! I was worried about compatibility issues with newer GPUs.
If you can stretch your budget a little, the RTX 4070 or 3070 would also work nicely and offer excellent performance. Just watch out for the wattage requirement; it's good to double-check that your PSU can support it too!
Thanks! I’ll keep that in mind! What about the RX 6800? Is that a viable option?
Just a heads up, some prebuilt PSUs can be a bit flimsy. You might want to verify that everything is solid before proceeding.
