Looking for Recent Feedback on Apple Care for Enterprise

Hey everyone! I'm looking into Apple Care for Enterprise for our organization, and I'd love to hear about your current experiences with it. We're planning to deploy around 2,500 devices—mostly MacBooks (60%) and iPhones (40%)—in both the US and some EU countries. I came across an older thread that was informative, but I'm curious if anything has changed lately. I want to look past the marketing and really understand what we're signing up for. Right now, our third-party support has been fine for our less than 100 Apple devices, but we're weighing whether switching to Apple's support is a better move as we scale up.

I'd also suggest running the numbers on keeping a standby inventory instead of relying solely on Apple Care. Based on the experience we've had, the additional costs didn’t seem worth it, especially given the number of failures we tracked in the previous years. Just some food for thought if you’re deciding between options!

One thing I've noticed is that you pretty much have to get Apple Care for your entire fleet, but it only covers about 4% of it annually for repairs. When deploying at a larger scale like yours, it might actually make Apple Care less appealing. I'd recommend comparing the costs with third-party services. We did that a while back and found that Apple Care didn’t make sense for the number of devices we had, considering the incidents.

That 4% coverage rule is still a thing! New devices contribute 0.04 to a credit, while existing ones only give 0.02. It feels like a ripoff, and the consumer Apple Care you may have on devices goes to waste if you switch to Enterprise. Definitely think twice about it!

We are looking at standby inventory too since we haven't deployed many Apple devices before. What has your damage rate been? We’re a bit unsure of what to expect.
