My RAM isn’t running at the right speed or size—what’s going on?

Hey everyone! I'm new to building desktop PCs, and I could really use your help. I recently got a Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro SL RAM kit (32GB, 2x16GB) that's supposed to run at 3200MHz. However, when I tested my new build, one of the RAM sticks is recognized as only 4GB from AData and the other as 8GB from G Skill, both running at just 2133MHz. I even tried enabling XMP, but it still showed the same issue and only managed to run one stick at 2400MHz after a few attempts at manual overclocking. I'm super confused because they look the same, but one has RGB and the other doesn't. I bought them off eBay for about $90 CAD. Is it possible I got scammed? I'd really appreciate any advice on what to do next!

Dude, it sounds like you definitely got scammed. Having two different brands and capacities in a RAM kit is a huge red flag. Return them if you can; those sticks won't work together properly. Stick with brands like Corsair or G.Skill and make sure they match!

Yeah, weird that one stick has RGB and the other doesn’t. If you look closely, they might not even be the same model. If possible, take a picture of them with the stickers visible so we can help you confirm.

I can tell they look the same physically, but I'm worried they have different internals.
