I messed up my SSD configuration, how do I recover my Windows and files?

I recently upgraded my ASUS ROG G16 (model GU603VI) by adding a 1TB SSD, but Windows isn't detecting it at all. While trying to figure things out in the BIOS, I stumbled upon a setting for RAID and decided to experiment with it – huge mistake on my part! Now, after rebooting, not only is the new RAID drive unavailable, but I've also lost access to my Windows boot drive. In a panic, I installed a Linux distro temporarily. However, my original 512GB disk now shows as 'Unknown' in the disk management. I'm really in a bind here and I need help restoring my activated Windows and hopefully retrieving my files. What should I do?

It sounds like the issue might be tied to the changes you made in the BIOS with the RAID setting. If you can turn off RAID in BIOS, try doing that first. There's a chance Windows could boot up again from your 512GB drive if the bootloader is still intact.

When I switched off RAID, my Windows bootloader seemed to vanish from the BIOS. Now I can't even see it when I try to boot up. What should I check next?
