I'm having a tough time with my PC overheating during intense gaming sessions. My temperatures often hit 80°C or even higher, prompting me to lock my FPS to 60 to keep the heat down, even though my system can handle more. For longer play sessions, I even end up taking off the side glass panel for better airflow, which isn't great. I'm on the lookout for:
1. An affordable case that has good airflow.
2. A budget CPU cooler, as I'm currently stuck with the stock one.
Here are my PC specs for reference:
- GPU: RTX 3060
- CPU: Ryzen 5 5600X
- Motherboard: B450
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8x2 GB DDR4 (3200 MHz)
- Storage: 480 GB SSD + 500 GB HDD
- Current Case: Gigabyte C200
- Current Cooler: Stock cooler (no aftermarket cooling)
Any advice or suggestions would really be appreciated! Thanks!

For your case, I'd recommend checking out the Montech Air 903—it could help lower your GPU temps by 10-15 degrees. As for a cooler, you might want to consider the Thermalright Burst Assassin 120 or the Phantom Spirit 120. Both are budget-friendly and should do well with your Ryzen 5 5600X. The Burst Assassin has enough cooling power, while the Phantom Spirit runs quieter due to its design. Good luck!
I had a similar issue, and I'd suggest the Montech 903 Max case paired with an ID-Cooling A620 Pro SE cooler. Both options should help with airflow and keep your system cooler during those intense gaming sessions!
Just to clarify, are you seeing 80°C on your CPU or GPU? Also, what's your budget for a new cooler? Where's your PC located, and how's the airflow in your setup? It might help narrow down the best options for you!
My GPU reaches 80°C, but the big issue is the airflow. The current CPU cooler sends hot air directly to the GPU, raising its temp quickly. If I open the case's side panel, it helps hot air escape better. I'm looking for a more efficient solution!
Thank you for your suggestion! I'll look into those options.
