Hey everyone! My old gaming PC has reached the end of the line, but I want to reuse some essential components for a new build. I'm switching over from macOS after 10 years and I'm planning to primarily use it for daily Linux development, along with some gaming on titles like CSGO2 and Dota 2. The parts I currently have include an NVIDIA RTX 2070 for graphics, a 1TB Samsung HDD for storage, and 24GB of DDR4 3000MHz RAM (a mix of 8GB and 16GB Corsair sticks, which works fine, although I'm open to replacing it). I'm considering building with an AMD Ryzen processor due to its stability and Linux support, but I'm flexible. As a total beginner in PC building, I'd really appreciate recommendations for an easy-to-assemble setup, especially a simple case. Ideally, I want the whole build—CPU, motherboard, PSU, case, and possibly an HDD—to stay under €800. I'm based in Germany, so any tips here would be super helpful! Thanks for your assistance!

For your build, I’d suggest the AMD Ryzen 5 5600X. It’s stable, powerful for both development and gaming, and works well on Linux. Pair it with a B550 motherboard for improved performance and future upgrades. As for the case, look for something like the NZXT H510; it’s easy to assemble and has a nice, clean design—plus it's good for airflow!
If you’re looking at the second-hand market in Germany, it’s quite strong! You can find great deals on previous generation parts, sometimes even three generations old. Check platforms like eBay Kleinanzeigen for some solid options. It’s super handy if you’re in a larger city where there's more availability.
Yeah, I've heard second-hand deals can be awesome! Just make sure to check the condition and any warranties if possible.
Definitely. The NZXT cases are great for beginners! Just make sure whatever you pick is compatible with your GPU and board.
