Hey everyone, I'm currently running a 13600K on a DDR4 setup, paired with a 512GB SSD and a 7900XT for gaming. I'm considering an upgrade to an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, along with a few new components like an Arctic Freezer 36 cooler, a Gigabyte B850 AORUS ELITE WIFI7 motherboard, G.Skill DDR5 Trident Z Neo 32GB (2x16GB) 6000 CL30 RAM, a Lexar LNQ790 2TB M.2 SSD, a Seasonic FOCUS GX-850 GOLD power supply, and a Phanteks XT Pro Ultra case. My goal is to keep this setup for about five years. I also have a 34-inch ultrawide monitor, so I'm gaming at 3440x1440p with a 180Hz refresh rate. Does this upgrade sound sensible, or would it be more beneficial to stick with my current setup? The total cost would be around $1,000, and I'm curious if switching to an AMD 9800X3D would be a better move instead. Thanks for any advice!

Honestly, if you're already on a 13600K, I wouldn't rush to upgrade. Your current setup with a 7900XT handles 1440p gaming quite well. Unless you're aiming for better performance in competitive games, you might find the upgrade's performance gains underwhelming after spending that much.
What's your current power supply? Knowing that could help in determining if you need any adjustments for the new build.
I'm using a Corsair RM750x right now.
Your build looks solid overall, but I'd recommend switching the cooler to a Thermalright Phantom Spirit instead. It might give you better cooling performance for that setup!
I'm actually looking for more stable framerates. I'm planning to pass the 13600K down to my kids for their gaming and schoolwork. So upgrading makes more sense to me than buying another PC for them.
