Best CPU Choices for a 3080: AM4 vs AM5

I just scored a 3080 for $300 and I'm set with my PSU, storage, and case. I'm currently using an AM4 motherboard but I'm on the fence about whether to upgrade to AM5 or stick with AM4. If I keep the AM4 motherboard, which CPU should I consider getting? And if I decide to upgrade to AM5, what CPU would be a good match for my 3080?

If you decide to switch to AM5, the 7800X3D would be a fantastic choice. It’s powerful and pairs well with the 3080. On the AM4 side, look for the 5700X3D or 5800X3D, but those can be tough to find at a fair price. You might have better luck snagging a used one.

I was considering the 5700X3D or 5800X3D, but they seem to be above my budget right now. If I stick with AM4, finding one at a decent price might be tricky. On the AM5 side, I'm weighing between the 7700X or the 7600X3D, but can't decide which is better.
