Should I Upgrade My PC Case for Better Cooling?

I recently upgraded my PC components from an i7 9700k with an RTX 2080 to a Ryzen 7 7700X and an RTX 5070ti. I kept my AIO cooler, 750w power supply, and my current case, which is the NZXT H500. Lately, I've noticed that my system runs a bit warm and loud. Given the trend towards full mesh cases these days, like the Corsair 4000D or the Montech AIR 903 MAX, I'm wondering if switching to one of these mesh cases would help lower my temperatures. I'm also curious about the noise factor; will these mesh cases be louder under load since they allow sound to escape more easily? Ultimately, is it worth upgrading to a more modern case for cooler and quieter performance?

Yeah, the H500 is known for its poor cooling. Upgrading to the 4000D should help a lot. Just make sure you check what cooler you've got, as it wasn’t mentioned in your post. That could also play a role in your temps.

Your H500 isn't the best for airflow, so moving to a mesh case like the 4000D could definitely help with temperatures. A well-ventilated case means your fans don't have to work as hard, which can also reduce noise somewhat. If your new setup is running warmer, the difference in cooling might also indirectly make it quieter overall.

Yup, I’ve seen reviews saying the H500 suffers with airflow. Switching to a mesh case should cool things down, and while it may be a bit louder, it shouldn’t be drastic.

To see if a new case is worth it, try running your PC without the side panel. If you notice a significant drop in temps, it’s definitely time for an upgrade!
