Hey everyone! I'm in the process of building a new PC to replace my aging setup (goodbye, 1080ti!). My main focus is on 4K gaming, and I've got a budget of 5000 euros since I'm located in Italy. I've put together a list of components I'd love your feedback on. Thanks for your help! Here's what I'm considering:
- **Case:** CORSAIR 6500X Dual Chamber Tempered Glass Mid-Tower (on special)
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D 16 Core (4.3GHz/128MB with 3D V-CACHE/AM5)
- **Motherboard:** ASUS ROG CROSSHAIR X870E HERO (AM5, DDR5, M.2 PCIe 5.0, Wi-Fi 7)
- **RAM:** 64GB (2x 32GB) Corsair VENGEANCE 6000MHz DDR5 CL30
- **GPU:** 16GB ASUS TUF GEFORCE RTX 5080 OC
- **1st M.2 SSD:** SAMSUNG 990 EVO PLUS M.2 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 & 5.0
- **2nd M.2 SSD:** SAMSUNG 9100 PRO M.2 4TB NVMe PCIe 5.0
- **Power Supply:** CORSAIR 1000W RMx SERIES ATX 3.1, MODULAR

I'd recommend swapping out that motherboard for a more affordable X870E version. High-end boards are hard to fix if there's a BIOS issue. I have the MSI X870E Edge Ti, and it's been great while saving me some cash. Also, if you're sticking to that 5000€ budget, upgrade to a 5090 GPU for better performance and consider a Platinum or Titanium PSU with higher wattage. Your second SSD is overkill; think about rearranging or sticking with two PCIe 4.0 drives instead.
Honestly, it's a little puzzling to go for the 5080 when you have a 5000€ budget for 4K gaming. You might want to downgrade your CPU to the 9800X3D and your SSDs to 2x 4TB EVO Plus drives, as they should perform similarly for gaming. I changed the power supply to the BeQuiet! Straight Power 12 in my setup; it's quieter and high quality. Also, make sure to utilize a 360mm cooler since your case can accommodate that.
Thanks for the suggestion! I was initially sticking to the 280mm cooler, but I see your point about maximizing cooling capacity.
