Do I Need a Whole New Build or Just an Upgrade?

I'm trying to decide whether to upgrade some components of my PC or if I should just build a new system altogether. I currently have a Ryzen 5800X and an NVIDIA 3080 Ti FE, and I'm considering moving to a 50 series GPU. However, I feel like my other parts might be holding me back. Here's a link to my exact parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/v4gHMC. What do you all think?

Consider jumping to an AM5 setup with a Ryzen 7600 or 9600X. That way, you can choose any GPU you like down the line. The 5800X shouldn’t hold you back too much at higher resolutions if you decide to snag a 5070 Ti now.

What are you trying to accomplish that the 3080 Ti can't handle? If you're aiming to max out FPS above 80 in single-player games at ultra settings, then you might be running into some CPU limitations here.

You essentially have two paths: 1) Go for a complete new build, keeping your GPU and storage, and switch to an AM5 system with a new PSU, or 2) Upgrade to a Ryzen 5700X3D or similar for a solid FPS boost without starting from scratch.

The best way to upgrade your PC is to tackle it one part at a time. Focus on the bottlenecks individually. It’s like playing a game of wack-a-mole until everything is running smoothly.

I have a 5800X paired with a 5070 Ti, and I found myself CPU bottlenecked in some newer titles. Although I still get decent framerates, if you’re aiming for high FPS in competitive games, you might want to consider an upgrade.
