Hey everyone! I have a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Earlier today, I tried using Google Pay at a store, and my phone gave me this weird error message saying I can't use Google Pay because it might be rooted. I've done some digging and checked with a couple of root checker apps, but they say root access isn't installed or available on my device. I took screenshots of the results, but I can't upload images here unfortunately. I'm a bit tech-savvy but not so much with smartphones, so I'm really puzzled about what's happening. Is this a sign that my device might actually be rooted or could it be something else causing this? I'm curious if a factory reset would help, but I'm hoping to avoid that if possible. Also, I'm in the US, and my phone has a Snapdragon CPU.

I’d suggest trying a factory reset first. If that doesn’t work, consider downloading the stock ROM and flashing it using Odin. There are plenty of tutorials out there for safe flashing. Just a heads up—if your device is rooted, you won’t be able to use Google Pay or some management apps because of security issues.
I’d really prefer not to do a factory reset unless I have to. It’s such a hassle to set everything up again, even if my files are backed up. And I definitely haven’t rooted my device myself! Not sure how it could have happened.
