Should I Upgrade to a 5070ti with My Current Setup?

I'm currently running a rig with a 3060ti, Ryzen 5 5600, 32GB of RAM, a PRIME B350-PLUS motherboard, and a Corsair 650W 80 Plus Gold PSU. I just bought a 5070ti (Palit GamingPro version for £720), and I'm debating whether to add it to my rig now or wait until I can upgrade other components. From what I've researched, everything seems compatible except that my PSU is a bit below the recommended specs. I plan to replace my PSU soon. I'm primarily gaming at 1440p. Any advice? Cheers!

The minimum wattage listed by manufacturers can be misleading. They usually test with high-end CPUs, but your Ryzen 5600 won't draw nearly as much power. The 5600X uses about 65W while gaming, and the 5070ti can go up to 300W, but if you undervolt it, you could bring that down to around 230W. So, a 650W PSU should be sufficient for your setup.

I’d recommend upgrading your PSU to at least 750W, just to be safe and ensure stable performance with the new GPU.

It’s definitely an upgrade for your system! Just keep in mind that your Ryzen 5 5600 might slightly bottleneck the performance of the 5070ti — you could expect about a 10% performance drop. But if you upgrade your monitor to 1440p, you should still have a fantastic gaming experience! Oh, and switching to an 850W PSU would be a smart move for future-proofing your setup.

Just a heads up, at 1080p, you might run into some bottlenecking issues. But for higher res games, it should be fine!

Thanks for the tips! I’m definitely considering that 850W PSU since I'm planning more upgrades.

Absolutely, if you get a suitable PSU, I’d say go ahead and see how it performs before you make larger upgrades. It’s worth testing it out!
