Is My PC Build List Solid or Are There Issues?

Hey everyone! I've built a few PCs over the years, but it's been almost a decade since my last build (not counting a crypto mining rig). Now I'm looking to transition to AMD for my CPU. A lot has changed in terms of technology and compatibility since my last build, so I've been doing some research for a new setup this Fall/Winter. I'm aiming to keep my budget around $2,500 (excluding a monitor, which I plan to upgrade to a 1440p later). My goal is to have a system that lasts another 8-10 years without needing major upgrades. Here's the list I've come up with – can anyone see any issues like bottlenecks or compatibility problems? Here's the link to my build: [PCPartPicker Part List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dQhb9C)

For a gaming setup, there are definitely some adjustments you can make to get better performance within your budget. Here's an optimized list: [PCPartPicker List](https://pcpartpicker.com/list/xpR73w)

Thanks for the suggestions! A couple of questions: why did you choose a less expensive motherboard? Wouldn't an 870 be a better fit? Also, does more headroom on the PSU cause inefficiency?

Just a heads up about the Ryzen CPU, it has dual PCIe X4 connections. If you choose a B850 motherboard, you can install two M.2 SSDs, but an X870 setup will slow the graphics card down when using multiple SSDs. If Thunderbolt isn't a priority for you, B850 might be a cheaper option while still offering good performance. I also modified your RAM and swapped out your SSD and PSU for higher quality options. What do you plan to use the PC for? Knowing that helps in assessing compatibility!

I’m primarily gaming, around 95% of the time, with some light browsing and other regular computer tasks.
