Hey everyone, I just got a new PC about a week ago, and I've been having an issue where it restarts randomly. This has happened around 3-4 times, and each time seems to occur when I'm playing different games, so I suspect it's being stressed. I really need some advice on how to fix this because it's super frustrating!
Just to give you some context, I'm in the middle of my university semester and I haven't reinstalled Windows on my new build because I'm using my old storage with it. Initially, it did some updates including chipset drivers. Also, I should mention that my build hasn't had any problems during Cinebench R23 tests; I've scored over 14,000 every time, so I'm at a loss.
Here are my specs:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7500F
- GPU: Intel ARC B580 (from my old build)
- Mobo: Gigabyte B650M-K
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance non-RGB CL30 6000MTs 16GB
- PSU: MSI MAG A550BN (from my old build)
- Storage: old SATA SSD and old hard drive (I don't have an NVMe yet).

First things first, try updating your GPU drivers and chipset drivers if you haven't done that yet. It's also a good idea to check for BIOS updates. If the issue persists, consider disabling the RAM Expo in the BIOS to see if that stabilizes things. It could very well be that your RAM is unstable.
Also, if you're open to it, getting a cheap M.2 SSD and doing a clean installation of Windows 11 could help clear out any issues from your old system, especially since SATA SSDs aren't the best choice for new builds.
I get where you're coming from about not wanting to reinstall Windows right now, especially with a month left in the semester. That's a lot to juggle! If you can't recreate the problem while testing the RAM, maybe keep an eye on temps and usage while you're gaming. You might need to look into some stress testing software if your current tests aren't triggering the issue.
