I need some serious help here! I was chatting with a Microsoft support agent about why my Oblivion remaster keeps crashing. They guided me through troubleshooting steps, and somehow ended up erasing my E drive, which had about 800GB of important info! I've spoken to another agent who told me to get a recovery tool, and I managed to retrieve about 288GB of data. They said Microsoft would cover the cost of the tool since it wasn't free. However, now I'm stuck trying to reach their support by phone and chat to sort everything out, but each time I call, I either get transferred or the call just drops. I'm beyond frustrated! Does anyone know of a free data recovery tool I could use instead, or a more reliable way to contact Microsoft support without getting disconnected? Thanks!

That sounds like a nightmare! I'm sorry you had to go through that. Have you used Recuva? It can help recover files but make sure you have another drive to transfer your files to. When you first run it, skip the wizard and check the settings to enable recovering file paths. Also, consider if the crashing issue is more related to your graphics drivers than needing to reinstall Windows.
Yeah, I’d really try Recuva or another tool, just be cautious with how you recover your files. But for you, it might be a good idea to take it to a professional data recovery service instead.
