I've been having a tough time with my PC lately. A few months ago, it was running fine, but then I started getting an "over voltage on USB device" error, which I couldn't figure out no matter how much I checked the connections and cleaned everything. After rebooting it a few times, the error stopped showing up. Recently, the system started booting with no video signal at all, and I couldn't even reinstall Windows because it completely lost video. Not sure if this is related, but I wanted to mention it.
Yesterday, a friend gave me a "new" motherboard - a Prime 8350M-A, replacing my old MPG X50, thinking I might have damaged my old one. I installed the new board with my old CPU and fresh thermal paste, cleaning everything thoroughly. The problem is, the new motherboard doesn't seem to power on properly; it has a power light, but sometimes it only runs for a few seconds without any display.
I've been stripping it down to just the CPU, but still no luck. I even recorded a short video of the issue. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

It sounds like you might have a BIOS compatibility issue. The board you're using seems pretty old, and if your CPU is newer, it might not be supported out of the box. Since you mentioned having an X570 before, I think you meant that instead of the X50? Unfortunately, this motherboard doesn’t support BIOS flashback, so you’ll need an older Ryzen processor to update the BIOS.
Also, about your previous USB overvolt error – it’s known that some of those errors aren't due to hardware but rather the BIOS. If you can flash the BIOS, that might fix the issue altogether!

You’re right, I meant X570! I actually do have an older Ryzen chip, so I could test that to update the BIOS. Would be great if the USB issue was just a BIOS problem. I’m worried I replaced the motherboard for nothing, but I guess I can always swap back and try it again.
