Hey everyone! I'm in a bit of a bind here. I've been running out of storage lately and I think it's time for me to upgrade. I was initially looking for a 4TB SATA3 SSD but realized the NVMe M.2 versions are more powerful and not that much pricier where I live. The snag is that my current motherboard doesn't have an M.2 slot, so I need to switch it out. My knowledge about motherboards is pretty limited, so I'm hoping to get some suggestions.
I want to keep my existing CPU and upgrade just the motherboard, storage, and RAM for now. Ideally, I'd like advice on choosing a motherboard that will work well with my current Intel i5-12400F CPU but will also be compatible with newer gen CPUs down the line, as I plan to upgrade in the next couple of years.
I found the ASUS TUF Gaming B760-PLUS WIFI (ATX) motherboard, which seems to have a solid feature set and supports both gen 12 and 13 Intel CPUs, plus the potential for gen 14 with a BIOS update. I'm looking to pair it with two Samsung 990 PRO SSDs (1TB & 4TB) and 2x32GB Corsair Vengeance DDR5 5600MHz CL40 RAM. Would this setup work well, or should I consider different options in a similar price range? Are there possible compatibility issues I might encounter? Thanks in advance for your help!
