Why does enabling ‘above 4G decoding’ mess up my BIOS?

I've been trying to enable the 'above 4G decoding' setting for reBAR support on my PC, but it completely bricks my BIOS every time I do it. I'm on a compatible BIOS for reBAR and have used it without issues for a while. However, after I updated to a newer BIOS version, adjusting this setting caused my system to break. Can anyone explain what's going on or help me fix it? I'm really stuck here!

Are you on the latest BIOS version? If the previous version worked fine, it might be worth flashing back to it to see if the 'above 4G decoding' works again. From what I found online, many issues with that setting are usually related to unstable RAM, but since it was fine before, that might not be the case for you.

Yeah, I just cleared the CMOS and tweaked my settings except for 'above 4G'. I'd rather avoid going back to an older BIOS unless it's absolutely necessary. Do you think re-flashing version F12a would help? Maybe my last flash was messed up?

What are the full specs of your system? Knowing what RAM kit you have might help!
