I have an ASUS Chromebook, specifically the CX34 model, and it currently has 8GB of RAM. I'm curious to know if there's a way to add more memory. Is it a matter of just plugging in a USB stick, or do I need to open up the laptop and install a new RAM chip? Any advice would be appreciated!

Before you get too excited about upgrading your RAM, it’s important to check if your model is even expandable. For many Chromebooks, including the ASUS CX34, the RAM is soldered onto the motherboard and can't be upgraded. If it is expandable, you'll need to open the device and install the correct type of RAM, and remember, there’s no such thing as USB RAM! Always a good idea to use sites like crucial.com to see what’s compatible before buying anything.
That's a bummer about the soldered RAM, I guess I need to be more careful when choosing a Chromebook!
Yeah, most Chromebooks come with a fixed amount of RAM that isn’t expandable. If your ASUS is one of those models, you'll need to live with the 8GB. And about the USB RAM—yeah, that doesn’t exist! If you’re looking to improve performance, maybe consider cloud storage or optimizing your system instead.
Good to know! Maybe I should look into some external storage options.
I had a feeling it wouldn’t be that easy, thanks for clarifying!

Thanks for the info!
