I'm looking for reliable methods to completely wipe a hard drive so the data is completely irretrievable. I'd like your recommendations, and I'm particularly curious if anyone has tried using RedKeyUSB for this purpose.

If you're serious about data destruction, why not use some good old-fashioned tools? A sledgehammer or hydraulic press will definitely do the job!

You might want to try using SystemRescueCD with the blkdiscard tool. It effectively TRIMs the whole drive, making recovery next to impossible.

For professional setups, we rely on Blancco. It wipes everything, and you even get an audit report afterward to keep records for compliance.

We use Blancco too! Can't recommend it enough.

You can do a secure wipe using options built right into some BIOS menus. It’s often pretty effective, especially if the drive was previously encrypted!

I just discovered this feature, and it really does work well! Definitely worth considering.

Most modern hard drives support a feature called Secure Erase. It takes just a few seconds, and it makes every block of data unusable without having to erase each one manually.
