Hey everyone, I recently bought an HP Victus gaming laptop that features an AMD Ryzen 7 7445HS processor, GeForce RTX 4050 with 6GB GDDR6, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 2TB SSD, running Windows 11 Pro. I got it from Amazon, and literally just minutes after unboxing it, while setting it up, the screen went blue with the error code "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE". This laptop wasn't cheap, so I'm really worried about this issue. Should I consider returning it? I have a cheaper version that has worked perfectly for the past four years, and I just want to know what's going on here!

Honestly, if it blue screens right out of the box, returning it might be the best option. You bought it from Amazon, which makes returns fairly easy. Save yourself the headache and get a replacement or a different model. Sounds like the laptop may have some underlying issues that are better off sorted out by someone else rather than you.
To figure out why you're facing that blue screen, you should check for any crash dump files. If you can boot into Windows normally or even in Safe Mode, look in C:WindowsMinidump for any files. Zip up that folder and upload it somewhere like catbox.moe or MediaFire. Those dump files will help us analyze what went wrong with your system. If you don't find any dump files, let us know, and we can give you more guidance on creating them.

I get that, but is there any chance it could be fixed? I’d prefer not to go through the hassle of returning it if I don’t have to.
