Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC without breaking the bank. I want to keep a few decent parts but replace others to boost my gaming performance, especially since I plan to get a new PC down the line. Currently, I'm sticking with my Intel Core i5-6500 CPU, MSI B150M Mortar motherboard, and ASUS Nvidia 1650 Super GPU. The components I want to upgrade include my 8GB DDR4-2134 Kingston SK Hynix RAM and my SSD. I'd love to hear any suggestions for upgrades that will be worthwhile with my current setup. Thanks in advance for the help!

For gaming, I'd suggest looking into getting a used Ryzen 5 3600 along with a B350 or B450 motherboard. That should cost you under $100 total. As for RAM, go for a 2x8GB kit of 3200 CL16; you can usually find one for around $40 new or $25 used. I wouldn’t bother replacing the SSD, but if you need more storage, just add a second drive!
Before you upgrade, think about what you need performance boosts for. If it's mostly gaming, you could still stick with your i5 for a while longer. Just make sure to increase your RAM and get an SSD if you haven't already – it makes a world of difference! Let us know your budget, and we can help narrow it down further.
Thanks for the tips! My budget is flexible but around $200 for RAM and SSD upgrades.
