How can I regain admin access on my Windows 11 laptop?

I recently got a Windows 11 laptop, but it's been reset and wiped clean. I initially had access through a local administrator account, but now I can't sign in to it anymore and I've lost my administrative permissions. My current account is severely limited—I can't open the command prompt (cmd), PowerShell, or even download anything. What can I do to gain access to cmd without admin privileges to unblock my previous admin account? Just to clarify, this laptop was given to me, and I understand it's controlled.

Short answer: You’re probably out of luck and might need to reimage the laptop. Long answer: Use something like Hiren's Boot CD to change or create another admin account, if that’s possible for you.

If you can boot from a USB, try using Hiren's Boot CD. It has a bunch of tools including a command prompt, but I get that booting from USB might not be an option for you.

Yeah, I can't boot from USB.

Your best bet is to just ask the person who gave you the laptop for help. They might be able to assist you directly.

It sounds like you might not actually own that laptop or you're not the company's admin, which complicates things. What you're asking could lead to trouble if it’s discovered.
