I'm installing a 9800X3D on my MSI B850 Tomahawk motherboard, which has two 8-pin CPU power connectors. Do I need to connect both of them to the power supply, or is one sufficient?

But what's the second connector for then? Just wondering if it's used for something else or if it's just there for extra power.
You only need to connect one 8-pin connector for the 9800X3D. It's enough for any of the CPUs that work with the AM5 socket, so you're good to go with just one!

Good question! The second connector is there in case you decide to use a higher-end CPU that might need more power, especially when overclocking. But for your current setup, one is totally fine.
