Looking for a Budget HDR 4K 27″ Monitor for Gaming and Daily Use

I'm planning to upgrade from my old Dell U2715H that I've been using for a decade. I really miss having dual 4K monitors, especially since I often work on a grainy 1440p screen at home. My gaming these days is pretty casual, mostly on my Switch 2 and PS5, and occasional games like World of Warships and World of Tanks. I don't need high refresh rates, so I'm looking for something that can handle casual gaming at 60Hz, along with tasks like writing, emails, photo sorting, and web browsing. I want a good 4K monitor with an IPS panel for better colors and contrast, but I don't want to spend over $400. I was considering the Dell S2725QS but would appreciate any other recommendations. Also, I'm not interested in OLED due to concerns about image retention.

The Dell S2725QS isn't truly HDR since it lacks full-array local dimming, which is key for HDR quality. If you want a genuine HDR experience, that's something to consider. A more budget-friendly HDR option I found is the KTC 27" monitor; it's priced reasonably and actually supports HDR features. Check it out!

I get your hesitation about the KTC brand, but sometimes less known brands can surprise you with quality at a low price. If you're not keen on them, look for monitors with actual HDR certification and local dimming within your budget. That way, you’ll ensure you’re getting solid performance for both work and gaming.
