I'm trying to decide between the ASUS TUF and the Gigabyte Gaming OC for the new 5080 I'm planning to buy. I've noticed that there's a lot of criticism towards Gigabyte, but I'm not sure why. Can anyone share their thoughts or experiences to help me make a better decision?

For me, the TUF is definitely the way to go. It's priced well between premium and basic models, plus it has a great cooler and runs quietly!
You can't really go wrong with either since both are solid choices. However, I might lean towards Gigabyte because ASUS has a bit of a rough RMA process, just for peace of mind.
I really like my TUF 3070 Ti, so I trust their quality. But honestly, if it comes down to it, just get whichever one is cheaper. Both options are solid!
I'm a fan of Gigabyte; I'm not sure what the negativity is all about. Instead of focusing on brands, I’d look into which 5080 models to avoid and then pick the one that looks best to you.
Both brands seem pretty neck-and-neck in quality. It's surprising since TUF is supposed to be top-tier. Doesn't really make choosing any easier, huh?
Just go for the cheaper GPU!
I've had my share of issues with Gigabyte in the past—two of their cards had thermal and fan problems on me within the first year. On the other hand, my ASUS TUF 5080 is running really cool, and I'm impressed! I decided to spend an extra $300 for the ASUS because I don't want to risk having bad luck again. Ultimately, go with what feels like a good deal for you; you might just get a reliable Gigabyte card!
