Is Upgrading from a 5600 to a Used 5700X3D for £172 Worth It?

Hey everyone! I'm considering an upgrade from my Ryzen 5 5600 to a used Ryzen 7 5700X3D for about £172. Right now, I have a 6650 XT and will be moving up to at least a 3080 12 GB, aiming to play games at 1440p. I know upgrading to an AM5 platform would be pricier, and I'm worried the performance boost wouldn't justify the cost. Do you think this CPU upgrade makes sense? I believe it will enhance performance in CPU-heavy games like Battlefield 6 and improve my 1% lows, allowing my next GPU to perform better too. I've just ordered the 5700X3D, and I plan to sell my 5600 to help cover the cost!

I'd wait to see how your 3080 performs with the 5600 before jumping into this upgrade. You might be surprised!

Based on some Battlefield 6 benchmarks I've seen, the performance with the 5600 might not be great anyway.

If you can sell your 5600 for a decent price, then it makes sense to go for it! Just make sure that you're not losing too much on your current CPU by selling it.

Yeah, that's definitely the plan! I'd rather not keep the 5600.

Consider your total costs before you go all-in, but honestly, £172 is a good price. Once you sell your old parts, you might find it's not as expensive as you think.

£172 is a solid deal for a 5700X3D, especially since it's no longer in production. It's a great value regardless of what you sell your 5600 for, really!

You're getting a good deal on the 5700X3D, and you should make some decent cash from the 5600 too. Expect around £60-£90 for it!
