Why is my laptop running slower after ending a task?

I was trying to run an application yesterday and got an error message indicating that it didn't open correctly. When I attempted to close the message, it kept reappearing. After several tries, I right-clicked on the taskbar icon for the error message and selected 'end task.' This caused my laptop to reset immediately, and now I've noticed that the animations for opening and closing programs are much slower, and my gaming framerate is really bad compared to before. I've already done a clean install of my drivers, but that hasn't helped at all. Does anyone know what might have caused this or how I can fix it?

Yeah, I've had similar issues before. If it was an emulator, it might not have been optimized for your system. Since you uninstalled it, you should also check if there are any residual files or settings left over. You might want to try resetting your GPU drivers or use a tool like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to completely wipe your GPU drivers and reinstall them.

Sounds like the application you were running was crucial for your GPU performance. When you ended that task, it might have messed with your system's graphics settings. Have you checked your GPU settings and ensured everything is configured correctly? Sometimes a reset can change settings back to default, which could impact your performance.

You might want to try running a complete system check too. Sometimes when things like this happen, it can indicate deeper issues. Running system diagnostics or checking for corrupt files with a tool like SFC (System File Checker) might reveal problems that need fixing.
