Should I Adjust My DRAM Frequency to 3200MHz?

Hey everyone! I just set up my new 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3200 RAM, but my BIOS is only showing them running at 2666MHz. I know I could force them to run at the full 3200MHz, but I'm curious if that's a safe move and whether it's really necessary. I'm using a Ryzen 5 3600 with a B450 Pro VDH Max motherboard and a 3070 GPU, mainly for gaming. Just want to avoid messing things up if it's not really needed. Thanks in advance!

Since you paid for 3200MHz RAM, you should definitely enable it! Switching on XMP in BIOS and selecting the speed is all you need to do. It may not be a massive boost, but there are no real downsides. If anything goes wrong, you can always turn it off again.

Yes, it's totally safe to bump up the RAM speed! While it's not strictly necessary, you'll likely see improved performance, especially in gaming.

You can enable XMP or EXPO in your motherboard settings, and it should automatically set your RAM to 3200MHz. Just make sure to check a video on how to reset the CMOS in case you need to do that afterward.
