Help! My C Drive is Always at 100% Usage – What’s Going On?

I'm having a major issue with my PC where the C drive is constantly stuck at 100% usage. This all started after I upgraded my system, but I'm not exactly sure when it began. I initially thought it might be linked to a new hard drive I purchased, so I even reinstalled Windows on a small partition of my main SSD, which currently has about 10GB free. The problem still occurs after that. I've tried a lot of fixes, but nothing seems to work. If anyone has any ideas or needs more info, just let me know! Thanks in advance for your help!

If you're not sure what's consuming space or activity, consider using tools like WinDirStat or WizTree to analyze disk usage. It sounds like the space isn't an issue for you, but tracking down what’s eating up your disk activity can help you understand this better.

It might be helpful to share your system specs as well. Knowing what kind of drives you're using and the overall setup can shed more light on what's going wrong. Any details about your current gear would be great for troubleshooting!

Another thing to investigate is the resource monitor. If you notice spikes in disk activity, look for processes related to system files like $logfile or registry functions that might be causing the problem. Sometimes, the system's own tasks can be what really drags your disk usage down.

It sounds like a RAM issue could be at play. If you're running low on RAM, your system might rely on the hard drive for virtual memory, leading to high disk usage. Even though you mentioned having 32GB of DDR5, it might help to check the performance monitor to identify which processes are hogging that disk usage. If you’re still seeing 100% usage even with low data transfer, that may point to a drive issue, but since you've tried two different drives, that seems less likely.
