Need Advice on My New PC Build

Hey there! I'm planning to build a new PC after not doing it for a while, and I'd love to get your thoughts on my chosen parts. It's been about four years since I last built one, so I'm looking for guidance. I'm going for a full system and my budget is under $3,000. I like the aesthetics of the case I've selected and appreciate having the space to work. Here's the list of components I'm considering: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, a Thermalright cooler, an MSI motherboard, 64GB G.Skill RAM, a Samsung SSD, a PNY GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, a Lian Li case, a Corsair power supply, and Windows 11. Total comes to about $2,806.83. Would love your input!

Your build looks solid overall! However, have you considered opting for a B850 motherboard? It offers similar functionality and could save you around $100. Also, the case seems to be geared towards an AIO cooler and doesn't come with case fans, so you might want to think about that. Plus, go for an ATX power supply instead of SFX; it's designed for bigger builds and will save you some cash. One more tip: for Windows, I'd recommend getting a digital license instead of a DVD drive—much easier!

Thanks for the input! I wasn’t aware of the case fan issue, so I’ll definitely look into that. I appreciate the tip about the PSU and the digital license for Windows!

Overall, I think you’re on the right track! The RAM timings you chose are great, but I'd be cautious about that PNY RTX 5080. I've heard it can get a bit noisy, and the fan bearings might not be the best. A more premium model could be worth considering. As for the CPU, while it’s supposed to be better with thermal dissipation, my experience has shown that cooling can be tricky. Depending on your environment, liquid cooling might be more effective than air cooling here!

That makes a lot of sense! I’ll check out some other GPU options and consider liquid cooling—thanks for the heads up!
