What do PC beep codes mean when my PC beeps once and then three times?

I'm trying to revive an old PC mainly to extract some data before I upgrade it entirely. When I start the PC, it beeps once followed by three fast beeps. I've noticed that if I remove the graphics card, it beeps once, pauses, and then beeps three times really quickly instead. I've tried rearranging the RAM and testing each stick individually, but nothing seems to work. I have a video of the issue, but I'm having trouble posting it. I'd appreciate any help or insights!

It sounds like you're dealing with a system that uses Power On Self Test (POST) beep codes, which can help diagnose what's wrong. Since you're mentioning it beeps once and then three times, that's usually an indication of an RAM issue, especially with certain brands like Dell. However, because you mentioned your setup is an Asus motherboard, you should check Asus's documentation for their specific beep codes. They might have a different meaning!

Yeah, when I had a similar issue, I found that reseating the RAM sometimes helped. Make sure the slots aren't dusty, and try booting with just one stick to see if that changes anything.
