Help Me Build My First Gaming PC on a $2000 Budget

Hey everyone! I've had a rough time returning two PCs from Best Buy due to faulty parts, so I've decided to build my own system. I'm working with a budget of $2000 to $2300 and already have a monitor and 32GB of DDR5 RAM. I'm looking to game on titles like the new Battlefield, Skyrim, and the Fallout series with my kids. This PC will also be used for some work from home and for playing my guitar. Any suggestions would be super helpful! Just a heads up, I live about an hour and a half away from a Micro Center, so I'm thinking about how that might affect my choices.

Make sure your RAM is compatible with whatever build you go with. You may want to center your build around that Corsair Vengeance RAM if you want to keep it. It’s usually worth considering if you plan to stick with it!

I can always get different RAM if it's an issue.

For your budget, I'd recommend going with an RX 5080 graphics card paired with a Ryzen 9800X3D processor. This combo is top-notch and should run your games smoothly!

Is that combo overkill? I don't know much about PC parts, so I’m trying to understand better.

Consider trimming your budget a bit. It sounds like you might not need to spend all that much. What resolution are you aiming for in Battlefield 6? You can definitely find great used GPUs that might save you some cash without sacrificing too much performance!

I'm looking for something that outperforms my Xbox Series X. I went for prebuys that cost me $1700, and they kept crashing due to faulty parts, so building feels like the right way to go.
