Hey everyone, I came across a great deal on an iPhone 16 on Facebook, but it's currently locked to Verizon. I'm located outside the USA, and I'm curious if it's possible to unlock it using a third-party service or app, or if the original owner has to go through Verizon to get it unlocked. I've already reached out to Verizon, but they weren't really any help. If I decide to buy this phone, can I unlock it from abroad somehow?

To unlock a Verizon-locked iPhone, the current owner needs to get in touch with Verizon and request the unlock. It usually only takes about 5 minutes for them to process it. Make sure the owner knows this, or you might run into some trouble later!
Just keep in mind, if the phone was part of a financing plan or bought at a heavy discount, Verizon might not approve the unlock request.

Yeah, I doubt the seller is the actual owner. That could complicate things further.
