I'm planning a big move to another state next year, and it's about a 10-hour drive. I have a powerful 3080 graphics card that I'll definitely be taking out before the move. I'm wondering if I also need to remove my U14S CPU cooler too, or if that's more of a precaution. I know it's a pretty hefty cooler, but I only have a Mid ATX case, so it's the largest I could fit. What's the consensus on this?

Honestly, I would recommend removing the cooler just to be on the safe side. The U14S weighs about 935g, and with your 3080 being around 1300g, having both secured could be risky during a long drive. Better safe than sorry!
You really don’t need to remove the cooler for a move. It’s securely attached with screws and isn't going to fall off easily. Just make sure the whole system is well protected. But hey, if you want peace of mind, taking it out can't hurt!
It’s true that sometimes shipping can be rough. I’ve seen stories where coolers got loose and caused damage. If you’re shipping it, definitely consider taking it out for safety.
How are you planning to transport it? If it's going to be in the car with you, strapped in tight, I think you'll be okay. But if you're using a moving service, I'd definitely take the cooler off and keep it with you.
If it's just you driving, your setup should be fine. I did a 1000-mile drive with my PC in the backseat, big cooler, and all. Just be careful with fast turns and bumps.
That makes sense! I just wanted to double-check because I thought maybe it’d be alright since it’s mounted securely, but I agree, it’s a hefty piece.
