I'm looking for a straightforward office suite for Linux that doesn't come with unnecessary features. It would be great if it's lightweight, but I'm open to other options beyond the most popular ones. I really just need something that works smoothly without any headaches, and I don't require collaboration features or format compatibility.

Have you considered trying SoftMaker? They have a free version of 2021 that’s quite similar to MS Office and works well.
I've had success with OnlyOffice. It looks clean and is pretty user-friendly. If you want something that feels nice and works well with MS Office files, it's worth checking out!
For something a bit different, there's Lotus Smartsuite. It has features that MS never included and works fine with Wine. Just keep in mind, the interface differs quite a bit.
If you're looking for something lighter, you might find Google Docs useful. It runs in your browser, so no installations required. It doesn’t have all the fancy features, but for basic tasks, it's pretty solid.
LibreOffice is my go-to for Linux. It's reliable and gets the job done, even if it’s not super lightweight. Plus, it's widely supported.
Totally agree! LibreOffice just works for me, no complaints here.
I've used OnlyOffice on Mint and loved it—definitely recommend it!
