Why does my laptop’s CPU throttle when the battery is connected?

I've noticed that whenever my laptop battery is connected, the CPU power gets limited to only 20-27 watts while I'm gaming, even though the temperatures are perfectly fine. Here's a screenshot showing the issue: [link]. However, when I unplug the battery, everything runs smoothly, and the CPU can operate at higher wattages without any throttle. This started happening after I opened up my laptop to do some cleaning, so I'm worried I might have damaged something. It's really frustrating because I have to unscrew the back panel and mess with the battery every time I want to take my laptop somewhere. Any suggestions?

It sounds like your laptop might be stuck in some sort of power saving mode. Have you checked the power profiles in the control panel? Sometimes they can get set to energy-saving settings when plugged in, which could cause that throttling issue. Just make sure you're not on a battery saver mode when plugged in!

I tried all the available power plans and nothing changed, so I don't think it's that.
