Hey everyone, I recently bought a budget walking pad from Amazon, and I've noticed a strange issue: whenever I turn it on, my WiFi connection throughout the house completely drops. It only happens when the treadmill is running, and as soon as I turn it off, the WiFi comes back without any issues. I'm wondering if this is a common problem and if there's an easy fix that doesn't require technical expertise. If not, I guess I'll have to return it since my roommates aren't thrilled about the WiFi outage.

It sounds like the treadmill has a really cheap motor that creates a lot of interference. This is likely causing it to send noisy signals through your electrical system. You could try using a surge protector; I’ve heard that sometimes helps, but honestly, you might want to return it, especially if it could lead to bigger issues later.
Could be that the motor in your treadmill is causing interference, kind of like how microwaves can mess with WiFi signals. Definitely worth investigating that!
Good thought! Maybe checking if it’s in the same room as the router could help.
Just a thought, but make sure your treadmill and router aren't plugged into the same outlet. Also, sometimes putting the router in a different room can make a difference if there’s interference.
I agree, returning it might be your best bet. You shouldn't have to deal with WiFi issues just for a walking pad!
