What’s Up with My Laptop Screen’s Weird Display Issues?

Hey everyone! I've been having some really odd display issues with my laptop screen lately. A few days ago, I noticed some lines of what looked like washed-out pixels at the bottom that were mirroring what was happening at the top of the screen. Yesterday, those lines disappeared, but today the problem came back and it's even bigger and more bizarre! Just to clarify, I don't own an OLED screen. My device manager identifies my display as "Dell Alienware 17 AUOBD90 Display." Any ideas on what's happening?

Sounds like it might be a serious issue with the screen itself. This could be due to bad connections or malfunctioning pixels that take longer to refresh. You might want to get that checked out by a repair technician just in case. Good luck!

I just scheduled a repair appointment. I'm curious to hear what they think the problem is.

It sounds like your display may be damaged. First off, check if the ribbon cable that connects your screen to the main board is loose or damaged; that can sometimes cause odd display issues. Make sure to update your GPU drivers and also ensure that your laptop isn't overheating—clean out any dust or pet hair if you can. You could also try connecting your laptop to an external display: if the issue is just on the laptop screen, a repair is likely needed. It's delicate work, so I'd suggest having a professional take a look unless you're comfortable with DIY. There are YouTube tutorials, though, for those brave enough!

Thanks for the advice! I’ve been considering taking it to a pro, but it's strange that the issue comes and goes. I did try updating the drivers but it didn't help. Restarting seemed to make it better temporarily, though.
