Why isn’t my gaming PC performing better at 1440p?

I'm feeling like I'm not fully tapping into the potential of my gaming PC, especially when it comes to playing games at 1440p. For titles like Warzone and Call of Duty, I'm rarely seeing frame rates above 100 FPS unless I crank down the settings to low. Here are my specs: Ryzen 7 5700X3D, MSI B550 motherboard, 16 GB Corsair 3600 CL16 RAM, and a Gigabyte 3070 Gaming OC. Any thoughts on how I can improve my performance or if my expectations are too high?

Yeah, the 3070 isn't cutting edge anymore for smooth 1440p gaming. If you're looking for better performance, consider upgrading to a newer graphics card with more VRAM. You might see a significant boost in your FPS for the games you play.

Honestly, your FPS seems pretty typical for a 3070 at 1440p. The graphics demand at that resolution is much higher compared to 1080p, so it’s not surprising you're not hitting the higher frame rates without reducing the settings. It's the nature of the beast in gaming nowadays.

I think part of the issue might be your expectations based on what you see from streamers or ads from hardware companies. They often showcase unrealistic performance metrics, and it can lead to some misleading ideas about what to expect with your setup. 1080p might be a sweet spot for better FPS in some games without sacrificing too much on quality.
