Upgrading from a 14900K: What Should I Do?

Hey everyone, I'm facing some major issues with my Intel i9-14900K. I bought a prebuilt Starforge PC (Meowterspace Edition), and a few months after getting it, Intel announced that some of the chipsets, including mine, were faulty. I've been dealing with crashes in nearly every game, and despite trying everything from BIOS updates to underclocking, it just keeps getting worse. I feel like my CPU is pretty much done, and I can't send it back for an RMA.

I'm considering getting a new 14900 (not the K version) and I'm wondering how simple the swap would be. I've swapped out parts before (like RAM and GPUs), but I've never replaced a CPU. My setup includes:
- Intel i9-14900K
- MSI MEG CoreLiquid S360 CPU Cooler
- Kingston Fury Beast RGB 64GB DDR5 RAM
- MSI MPG Z790 Carbon WIFI Motherboard
- MSI RTX 4090 SUPRIM LIQUID X 24GB GPU
- 2TB Teamgroup Z44A7 PCIe 4.0 NVME Storage
- 2TB Teamgroup MP44L PCIe 4.0 NVME Storage
- MSI MEG Ai1300P PCIe 5 Power Supply
- RGB Fans

I'm open to considering other options, but I really don't want to mess things up with such an expensive setup. I just want a solution that stops the headaches so I can get back to gaming. Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you thought about reaching out to Intel for a replacement? They're aware of the issues with your chipset, and you might be able to get a new CPU without spending any extra money. Just make sure your motherboard has the latest BIOS update in case they send a replacement!

I get the hesitation! But if you go through Intel, you might avoid downtime if you ask about cross shipping or something similar.
