Feeling Anxious About Potential Malware on My PC

I've been feeling anxious about my computer. I suspect it might have a virus or some malware lurking around, but I'm not entirely sure if it's just paranoia. I already ran a scan with Malwarebytes, and it came up clean, but I still feel uneasy. Is there anything else I can do to put my mind at ease?

It sounds like what you're experiencing could be just browser warnings rather than actual malware. Sometimes, antivirus programs or extensions can overreact. I'd recommend checking your browser extensions and disabling any that you didn't install yourself. After that, try running Windows Defender's offline scan available in the Virus & Threat Protection settings. If Malwarebytes found nothing and you haven’t noticed any strange login attempts, you might be in the clear! If your PC is slow, it could just be background processes or updates running, so you can also check your Task Manager for anything unusual.

I understand your concern, but it's important to differentiate between real issues and just anxiety about your PC. If you feel your computer is acting differently, can you pinpoint exactly what's off? Maybe it's running slower or giving you alerts? Sometimes hardware issues can feel like malware too. If you're worried about a reset, consider consulting a friend or tech-savvy person to help you back up your data safely!

I get where you're coming from! Just remember that sometimes our computers can act strange due to various reasons like updates or too many programs starting up at once. If you're concerned about site warnings, it's a good idea to check what your antivirus is flagging. If Malwarebytes didn't pick up anything, chances are it's not an actual threat. You might want to give it a little time; it could just be a normal quirk! Also, if that feeling persists, maybe take a few moments to step away and do something else. It's okay to worry, but don't let it consume you!
