Will Slower Write Speeds Affect My Gaming Performance?

Hey everyone, I need some advice. I've recently found out that my Solidigm P44 Pro NVMe SSDs (2 x 2TB) may have a problem where the write speeds could degrade over time, dropping from the advertised 4700MB/s to around 2500MB/s. The read speeds remain solid at over 7000MB/s, which is good. I've noticed this when running CrystalDisk. My main concern is whether this slowdown in write speeds will impact my gaming experience. I've heard it might stop degrading once it hits 2500MB/s. Will I really notice any difference while gaming? Thanks for your help!

Just remember, the speeds you see advertised are often in ideal conditions. Your actual write speeds may vary based on how you use the SSD. Since gaming mostly involves reading data randomly rather than writing, it doesn’t sound like you have a significant issue. You’re probably all set!

I appreciate the insights! So it sounds like this will mainly affect people doing intensive tasks like video editing. Cheers!

For gaming, you really shouldn't worry about the drop in write speeds. Gaming primarily relies on read speeds and random access to data rather than constant writing, so you're likely to be just fine!
