Should I Choose AM5 or AM4 for My New PC Build?

I'm trying to decide between building a new PC with an AM5 or AM4 setup. With the outrageous prices of DDR5 RAM, I'm considering going with the Ryzen 5800XT instead of the 7600X since it's about $250 CAN cheaper. What do you think?

I say go for AM5 if your budget allows. It’s more future-proof and gives you better upgrade options.

Definitely AM5! But it really comes down to how you game. If you're into the latest titles, go AM5 to stay ahead. If you're mostly playing older or casual games, AM4 could save you some cash.

It's really up to your priorities! Think about how much the extra performance and having an upgrade path mean to you. Are you planning to overclock or use demanding software?

Unless you're on a tight budget, I'd avoid going with AM4 for a new build, especially if upgrades are in your plans. Both the platform and DDR4 are nearing their end-of-life, making parts harder to find and pricier in the future. Transitioning to new tech later will also likely mean a complete rebuild.

Thanks for clarifying that!
