I have an iPhone XR that I haven't used in about three years, and I can't remember the password. I'm thinking of taking it to the Apple Store for help. I do know the iCloud account it was linked to and I have proof of ownership. Will that be enough for Apple to unlock my phone without erasing anything?

Nope, Apple doesn't have a back door for this type of situation. Their security is really tight, and if you don't know the passcode, you’re more or less out of luck.
