Why is my RAM only running at 4800MHz instead of 6000MHz?

I'm having an issue with my PC's RAM speed. I have a single stick of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM that's supposed to run at 6000MHz. However, both Task Manager and CPU-Z report it as running at 4800MHz. I tried going into the BIOS and enabling the XMP profile for 6000MHz, but it only sets the DRAM frequency to 4800MHz. Whenever I attempt to set it higher, my PC won't boot. Is there any way to make my RAM operate at its advertised speed of 6000MHz? My motherboard is an Asus H610 and I have one 16GB stick of DDR5.

It looks like your motherboard is holding you back. The Asus H610 series has limitations on RAM overclocking, especially with XMP profiles. If you want to take full advantage of your RAM's capabilities, unfortunately, you'll likely need to upgrade to a higher-end motherboard that supports those speeds more effectively.

Single sticks of RAM usually don't perform as well as dual-channel setups. While you can try to upgrade your motherboard, consider adding an additional stick of RAM when you do, as that could help improve performance overall. That said, it might be tricky to bypass the current restrictions you’re facing.
