What could happen if my iPhone is connected to someone else’s computer?

I recently went to buy a travel SIM card, and the person at the store needed my IMEI number. I handed them my phone, and when they returned it, I noticed it seemed like they had pulled a cable out from my phone. They might have connected it to their computer for about 30-60 seconds. I'm curious, what risks might be involved in that situation?

If the person didn’t know your passcode, they likely couldn’t do much besides charge your phone. Just keep in mind that your IMEI is easily found in the Settings under General > About, so it's odd that you'd need to hand over your phone for that info.

Honestly, nothing major should happen unless they could somehow bypass your security. The real concern could be malware, but if your device was locked during that time, you should be fine!

In the future, if someone needs information from your device, it’s best to ask them where to find it and get it yourself instead of handing over your phone.
