Should I Buy PC Parts Now During Black Friday or Wait for RAM Prices to Drop?

I need some advice on whether it's smart to buy PC parts during Black Friday, especially since RAM prices are really high right now. I'm planning to build a PC for a family member that should cost around the same as my last build, which was about $900 but now prices have shot up to around $1200. This new PC needs to handle mid-level gaming for popular games like Fortnite and Minecraft, and color doesn't matter too much—just as long as it works! I'd like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the motherboard. Here's the parts list I used for my last build: [PC Part Picker Link]. Should I just go ahead and buy what I can now during Black Friday sales, and wait for RAM prices to stabilize? Also, can anyone suggest parts that are currently on sale that are similar to what I need?

You should buy now and find the best deal you can— it might be tricky with your color scheme. If the user doesn’t mind, consider used RAM even if it's not the fastest. There are still some decent deals out there!

Funny enough, I saw some white RAM kits available right now at a decent price. Here’s a link to one: [link].

Good to know I can be flexible on color! Any specific recommendations?

If you can wait, buy the other parts now and see if RAM prices go down in the future. But honestly, RAM isn't expected to change much in the next six months.

That's a good point! I think I’ll go ahead and get what I can.

At this rate, RAM is going to stay expensive. The popular kits have gone from about $90 to over $300! You might find some 32GB DDR5 kits in the $230-250 range though, or just stick with a 16GB for now, especially since 16GB can still handle most games fine.

Thanks for the tip, I'll keep that in mind!

It’s hard to say if prices will drop or keep rising. If your budget allows, buying now might be the best move. Maybe go for 16GB and don't worry about matching colors.

Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into 16GB options.

RAM prices are likely to stay high for a while, maybe even months. How long are you comfortable waiting? If you need this done by Christmas, it might be worth grabbing some parts during Black Friday and getting what you can now, then see if RAM prices drop later.

I definitely want to finish it by Christmas, so I guess I should go for the parts on sale now.
