Can I Make Sure My Mom Won’t Find My Deleted Photos on Windows?

Hey everyone, I have a bit of a tech dilemma. I own a Chromebook that I mainly use for streaming and chatting with my girlfriend, who's away at college. We've recently started sharing some intimate photos with each other. I made sure to delete those photos and had backup turned off, so they shouldn't be saved to the cloud.

However, my Chromebook started acting up, so I logged into my Google account on my Windows computer to fix it. After getting my Chromebook back on track, I had to factory reset it and create a whole new account because it was saying my password was wrong.

Now, I've given my Windows computer to my mom since she needs one for her new job, and she mentioned clearing some space on it. That's when I got worried about the photos. I just want to be sure that my mom can't accidentally find those photos or any messages from my girlfriend—not because I don't want to own up to being an adult, but because my parents have very strict views on relationships and I don't want to disappoint them.

Is there any way my mom could find those files on the Windows computer? I believe my accounts are separate, but I need to know if I'm in the clear before she starts poking around.

You might want to create a new user account for your mom on the Windows PC. This way, her files and settings are completely separate, and she won’t have access to your stuff. If you're really concerned, you could also consider reinstalling Windows for a clean slate. The Microsoft media creation tool is pretty user-friendly and makes it easy to set up. It’ll wipe everything off and let you start fresh!

Wait, so if the photos are on a different account, she can't find them, right? As long as your old Google and YouTube accounts aren’t linked on her account, you should be fine!
